Madhya Pradesh Vigyan Sabha
Madhya Pradesh Vigyan Sabha (MPVS) is a non government organization registered (No.15667 dated 15.10.1985), committed to generate scientific temperament among the people for better living and environment. The MPVS has a team of scientists, Doctors, Engineers, Social Scientists, Academicians, teachers and students from all over the Madhya Pradesh state. It has its units in all the districts with more than 5000 members all over the state. The Vigyan Sabha is also supported by other part time science activists. The MPVS is a people’s science movement active in the state since its inception form 4th March 1985. Madhya Pradesh Vigyan Sabha has been awarded the National Award for Science Popularization through folk media and folk forms by NCSTC, department of Science and Technology, New Delhi, for the year 1992. The MPVS aims at concrete analysis of the impact of science on society. Its role in socio economic and political context to increase scientific input in development of planning and self reliant peoples science movement for scientific temper and awareness towards science and technology to work for world peace , protection of environment and eco-system, conduct seminars, exhibitions, competitions and generate peoples science movement. The MPVS is governed by an elected executive council for a period of two years. It also has its elected district level units. The functions of technology development, project formulation, project guiding, monitoring and functioning and broad policy issues are looked after by state centre at Bhopal.
