The KVK became a gateway for FEEDS to sources funds from state and central governments. A number of field crops were demonstrated both in the KVK campus and in farmers’ fields. Later, with the introduction of Orchid Research & Development Centre (ORDC), Ethno Medicinal Research Centre (EMRC) and National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), the FEEDS have become an institution of Institutions. Furthermore, FEEDS have established a women technology park, a lead botanical garden and a mushroom research and development centre with central government funds and AMITY University as its collaborative partner. FEEDS has set up its own Community radio station (CRS) which actively cater information to local people relating to health & sanitation, education, social welfare schemes, folklore, and song. The CRS also addresses the local and social issues since the community radio station is run and managed by the local community on participatory mode. Considering horticulture, home sciences and biotechnology as an important sector as an important sector for doubling farmers’ income within short period of time through export, potential diversification and value addition in agriculture, FEEDS have started a College of Horticulture, Community Science & Biotechnology from 2019.
