These techniques require minimum quantity of seeds and optimum use of water for crop cultivation.  This is in turn help to cut down the input cost and water requirement thus reduced total expenditures. The standard package of practices (PoP) of SWI and SMI was customized to suit the Semi Arid-Tribal regions and was mainly focused on the components of the technology as below

Current Status

At present the project is in second year. Till August 2020 total number of 230 demonstrations on SMI and 99 demonstrations on SWI covering 15 project villages in Bhiloda block of Aravalli and Vijaynagar and Khedbrahma block of Sabarkantha districts had been conducted. Total number of 379 farmers had been trained on SWI and SMI cultivation practices. The manual (hand operated sowing machine for wheat and maize for easily sowing in smaller area (< 1 acre) is to be developed under the project. In the first year total number of 22 field demonstration on SWI had already been conducted covering 5 project villages.

This technology is under assessment and are planned to make it context specific and reliable.
