Technology package for medicinal mushroom ‘Shiitake’ (Lentinula edodes) cultivation on saw dust of popular and eucalyptus enriched with natural ingredients was standardized and continued for verification of the results obtained on production and economics in the earlier studies. Results revealed that yield of Shiitake vary from 30-35% fresh weight basis which was authenticated in repeated trials conducted under natural conditions. Mass scale cultivation for commercial supply is in progress. Commercial production of this specialty mushroom holds high promises and can also be dried for marketing which is not possible in case of button mushroom.
